Register For Events:


Register for classes and events by completing the form on the right.  One person may register for your entire family or group.  Preregistration is REQUIRED for ALL classes and events; group size is limited to comply with wilderness area regulations and classroom size.  If you would like to sign up for an event and the listed dates do not work for your group, please select Choose Your Own Adventure, and our Adventure Coordinators will work with you on custom plans.

Peak of the Week:

What:  Each week we aim to offer one wilderness trip which is a full day hike that climbs a prominent peak in the area, oftentimes a 14er.  All wilderness trip participants must have completed a Backcountry Basics course in the previous 6 months to qualify.  This class covers important topics such as safety, leave no trace principles, how to pack, gear, how to dress, weather considerations, local wildlife, and more.

Who:  Open to Adventure Club members only, group size is restricted.  If the trip is not full, the week of the trip, attendance will be extended to all students who have completed a Backcountry Basics course within the previous 6 months. 

Where:  Wilderness trips are typically within an hour and a half driving radius of Breckenridge, CO and meet in the Beyond Backpacking rear parking lot.

When:  Peak of the Week trips typically meet at 5:00 am with climbs beginning as early as 6:00 am.  Oftentimes there is optional camping near the trailhead.


Backpacking:

What:  Each week we aim to offer one overnight Wilderness Trip which includes 2 to 3 full days of hiking and 1 to 2 nights spent in a tent in the wilderness.  All wilderness trip participants must have completed a Backcountry Basics course in the previous 6 months to qualify.  This class covers important topics such as safety, leave no trace principles, how to pack, gear, how to dress, weather considerations, local wildlife, and more.

Who:  Open to Adventure Club members only, group size is restricted.   If the trip is not full, the week of the trip, attendance will be extended to all students who have completed a Backcountry Basics course within the previous 6 months.  

Where:  Wilderness trips are typically within an hour and a half driving radius and meet in the Beyond Backpacking rear parking lot.

When:  Backpacking trips typically meet at 7:00 am and run Saturday - Sunday.


Backcounty Basics:

What:  Each week we aim to offer one 3 hour Backcountry Basics course.  This class covers important topics such as safety, leave no trace principles, how to pack, gear, how to dress, weather considerations, local wildlife, and more.  Students who successfully complete this course qualify to attend Adventure Club sponsored wilderness trips for 6 months following course completion provided they are active Adventure Club members.

Who:  Open to everyone.  FREE for current Adventure Club members, $75 for non-members.

Where:  location varies weekly in the Breckenridge area, or sign up as a group and let our experts come to you

When:  Backcountry Basics courses typically run 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm on Thursday evenings.


Community Campfire:

What:  As fire regulations permit, we will periodically offer a Community Campfire.  This is an opportunity to meet new people, share a snack, a story, a song, and promote a sense of community while we enjoy the great outdoors together.  No hiking or 4WD is required.  Bring your own camp chair and refreshments.  Contribute some firewood if you can.  Dispersed camping is available for those who wish to spend the night.

Who:  FREE & open to all ages and fitness levels

Where:  meeting at the Ice Rink in Breckenridge then carpooling to the campfire site on Boreas Pass

When:  Campfires will be 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, meeting at 7:00 pm

What:  Have you always wanted to climb a mountain or spend the night in your tent?  Let us work with you to plan the custom trip of your dreams.  Contact our Adventure Coordinators and let us help you with an itinerary and equipment package that best meets the needs of your group to give you the best outdoor experience you could hope for.

Who:  Open to all groups and existing Adventure Club Members.  Convince your youth group, your bachelor party, your coworkers, your family reunion, your sorority sisters, or a few of your closest friends to join you on the adventure of a lifetime.

Where:  the Colorado Rocky Mountains

Events Calendar

We will be offering classes, events, and organized wilderness trips beginning June 2016 through August 2016.  The calendar will be updated regularly as classes fill and other activities are added.  Please check back periodically to see our updated events calendar.  Our initial schedule is currently available and we will upload trip details in the coming weeks.
